Andy / Henk

Both men would appear to have been killed at Clarence House, High Street Renfrew in the same incident. As Andy rightly confirmed, both recorded at Renfrew in the County of Renfrew.

Hi,

I work for the NI War Memorial, Belfast and have been trying to find more info about Sgt Ernest J.M. LUCEY - 536607

His death, caused by HE bomb, is registered in Belfast at Stranmillis Hospital however I am not aware of where exactly he was injured. HMS Furious was in Belfast 4/5th May during the raid before sailing to Liverpool the next day where it again experienced another raid.

This is the first I've seen Lucey's name linked to the ship. Is there a way I can access the grave registration report form? Or if anyone can signpost me to further info it would be most appreciated.

Hello Alan

Welcome to the Forum. The Graves Registration Report Forms are normally (or used to be) available on the individual casualty's page on the CWGC website.

Lucey's seems to be missing from his entry now, for some reason, maybe a victim of the website's updates:

Try the GRO death index it may have HMS Furious listed as his unit on there. It’s 34 weeks since I added his cause of loss and I think my note book with him listed is miles away and Covid restricted !

Thanks for the welcome Simon, longtime lurker but needed to sign up this time to ask my question.

That's what I assumed when you said Graves Registration Report Form but no idea why his entry doesn't have one. I'll drop CWGC a message and ask. I am in touch with the church warden where he is buried so hopefully she can fill in a blank.

Hi Jon

Are you sure it was Duxford?

His death is registered in the New Forest which is nowhere near Duxford?
