Citation probably in Tavender as well.

ARTER, Stanley Roland, Flight Sergeant (777715) – No. 97 Squadron – Distinguished Flying Medal – awarded as per London Gazette dated 7 December 1943. From Spink auction catalogue of 22 April 2010. The recommendation states:
.
‘This airman has completed a large number of operational sorties. He has taken part in many of the recent attacks on important German targets which have included Berlin, Nuremberg, and Hanover. On two occasions, his aircraft has returned to base with one engine unserviceable. Flight Sergeant Arter has been an outstanding member of a reliable crew and his keenness for operations has been most praiseworthy’.

777715 Flight Sergeant Stanley Roland Arter, D.F.M. served during the Second World War, and at the time of the award of his D.F.M. was flying with 97 Squadron (Lancasters), part of No. 8 (Pathfinder Force) Group – in June 1943, the Squadron marked and illuminated the Zeppelin works at Friedrichshafen and the Italian Naval Base at Spezia, the latter on the occasion of the first “shuttle-bombing” raid.
