What were the places of death registration for:
AC2 Royston G. HIBBINS - 1191965 - 14 BC, 966 (Balloon) Sqn (Newport), and
LAC Sydney H. SMITH - 912563.
Proposed aircraft losses for this day:
Master I - T8337 - 8 FTS - lost in a mid-air collision (Air Britain: collided with Hurricane V6566 of 8 FTS over sea 3 miles S of Johnshaven, Kincardine, however AB mentions for V6566: collided with N2261 [sic - must be N2661] 3 miles S of Johnshaven.) Three aircraft of 8 FTS involved in this mid-air collision ?
Oxford II - V3514 - 6 FTS - destroyed by fire in accident; no further details.

Hibbins,21, is registered at Newport, Monmouthshire,S Wales,consistent with his Unit
Smith,29, registered at Goole W Yorkshire

I have details of a couple of accidents for the 13th.
No.4 AOS lost a Battle along with two Czech personnel.
July 13th 1941, “Battle crash in Luce Bay, 787322 LAC Dundera, 787821 LAC Drcka, Czech personnel, killed.”
The 8 FTS accident, only recorded as two Hurricanes by the ORB, also involved overseas personnel this time Polish airmen.
July 13th 1941, “780969 LAC Adach, H. & 780569 LAC Janczyk, A. killed in collision between Hurricanes N2261 and V6566 3 miles south of Johnshaven. Investigation held by Wing Commander E.W. Simpson on 15th July 1941.”

Both Smith and Hibbins are DOAS listing on Aug 21st magazine.

Lot O'Halloran 1172702 , attached to 121 MU, was killed in an accident involving two lorries at Maaten Baguish
