Hi

Does anyone know details about a small plane made by a friend of the Hon Daripple in 1938?
My father writes... "I have just seen a lovely little plane which is being tested just up Grantham hill. (Poss near Marlborough). it is a private experiment by the Hon Daripple and a friend who designed it. It is a small plane, very safe, with a Ford 10 engine which develops only 27hp and max speed 120mph range 500 miles. It goes 60 miles to the gallon and costs £300."

Cheers Motherbird.

Sounds like the Chilton Monoplane - the designers were Hon. Andrew Dalrymple (note spelling) and Alexander Ward.

You can find more info on the aircraft's website:
