Thanks Col for info on FRANKLIN and HOBBS. I had info on NELSON and WAGNER but erroneously omitted to record the loss date 15-2-1943 for X4067.

Henk.

Mackintosh was solo on V3894.
ORB records:
"Fatal night flying accident. Oxford I V3894. This aircraft, piloted by P/O H W MACKINTOSH, an AFU pupil, crashed on the circuit when the pilot was coming into land after aerodrome survey. The aircraft was totally wrecked but examination by the Engineer Officer revealed a fracture of the connecting rod in No. 5 cylinder of the port engine, for which Form 1022 was rendered. The pilot was killed instantly and an Investigation was called for".
Accident happened at 05.00 hrs.

Cheers, Tom

Carpenter died in hospital of natural causes at Bangor, Caernarvon. His death should be registered as Caernarvon.

He was attached to No.9 (O)AFU.

The ORB for 59 OTU didn't say much, "Sgt Hobbs killed in a flying accident".

Hi Henk,

F1180 gives a slightly different story for P8396 and X4067 and agrees with Col info.

Franklin listed as pilot of P8396
Sgt G A Kemp, 655779 down as safe, pilot of X4067

Ross
