F/Sgt Christopher C. WEBB - 999389 - CWGC: 89 Sqn (Bersis, Libya) - commemorated Panel 7 Column 2 of the Malta Air Forces Memorial.
Can't find a matching Beaufighter loss, however Air Britain records for this day the loss of V8221 of 69 Sqn off Malta.
69 Sqn equipped with Beaufighters until end of February 1942.
Is it possible info in Air Britain is incorrect and should read 89 Sqn ? Also looking for info on second crewmember.

Northern Front.

On Malta the Beauforts of 39 Squadron which had been at Shallufa in Egypt, now all arrived back at Luqa. During the night a Beaufighter of 89 Squadron crewed by Sgt C C Webb/Sgt J A Mathers, was lost.

Thanks Col. Assume that 69 Sqn for V8221 as listed by Air Britain in their T1000-V9999 is incorrect.
