Thanks Malcolm; MUIRHEAD may be a 'candidate' for the Master in Angus.

Henk

Can confirm Muirhead on the Master (from deaths register).

On the same page dated 1/5/43 is an entry for Jack Baker 1354329 'gunshot wound to head whilst on operational flight'.

regards

Thanks Dave & Malcolm.
Jack BAKER - 1354329 indeed is on my 'unaccounted' list for 1-5-1943, unfortunately without unit number. Annotation made on his cause of death. Will turn up in the future on the forum.
Regards,
Henk.

Hello

LAC Joseph F. GLEESON - 653266 - the Liverpool Echo of January 27th 1943 carried the following announcement:

GLEESON - Jan. 25, passed away peacefully in Walton Hospital, aged 21 years, Jospeh Franics Gleeson (R.A.F.), beloved and only son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gleeson.

Sgt Sydney McW. WARDROPE - 538177 - the Hull daily mail of Janaury 28th 1943 reported the following:

R.A.F. Sergeant Found Shot: Selby Inquest
A love affair which culminated in the death of a 24 year old sergeant in the Royal Air Force was mentioned at an inquest at Selby last nigh on Sidney William Wardrop [sic], whose home address was given as Hedge Lane, Droylsden, near Manchester. Wardop was found lying on his back with a gunshot wound in his head.
...recording a verdict that Wardrop died from a self-inflicted wound while the balance of his mind was disturbed through a private trouble, the coroner (Mr. W. Bentley) said; "Some troubles are even greater than those which people know about."

Regards

Simon
