Thanks Alan. He lies buried Bishop's Stortford Old Cem., what is in Hertfordshire; he hailed from "Berden" (could not find a country for this place).

Looking for the cause of death of F/Sgt John STONELEY - 1067420, 450 Sqn, killed 26-2-1943 and his name commemorated Column 270 of the Alamein Memorial. 450 Squadron, flying Kittyhawks. In my Kittyhawk file only can find for this date and 450 Sqn a Mk.III serial FR125 shot down by Bf 109s near Gabes. For this serial FR126 already in my files as casualty AUS401676 P/O Frederick J. SILK - RAAF - commemorated Column 277 of the Alamein Memorial. In same incident near Gabes following Kittyhawks were lost:
Mk.III - FR327 - 250 Squadron;
Mk.III - FR346 - 2 (RAAF) Squadron, and
Mk.IIA - FL356 - 3 (RAAF) Squadron.

450 Squadron ORB has FSGT J Stonely in FR346 and PLTOFF F Silk in FR125.

CORRECTION to Ronald Allison Davies 1178654, he did not die in an aircraft over the north sea as an LAC in 1943, he died in Haymeads Hospital, Bishops Stortford after a long illness and medical discharge from the RAF

Ronald Allison Davies 1178645 | was admitted dangerously ill to Haymeads hospital, Bishops Stortford on 19 September 1942. He was medically discharged from the RAF on 20 December 1942, but died in the same hospital post discharge of empyema
