Hello
AC2 George Nelson LITTLE - 1699082 - the Burnely Express of April 3rd 1943 reported the following:
Padiham Aircraftman's Tragic Death
The body of Aircraftman George Nelson Little, of 18, Cemetery Road, Padiham, was on Tuesday washed up by the sea at Blackpool. At the inquest at Blackpool on Thursday, a verdict of "Found drowned" was returned, the Coroner remarking that deceased's mind appeared to have disturbed.
Aged 40, A.C. Little was well-known in Padiham, and for many years he had been employed as a grocery assistant at Messrs. Brennands. He was one of the first to volunteer for Civil Defence and became a warden. He should have appeared before a medical board on the morning of the tragedy.
The funeral took place at padiham Cemetery yesterday.
Regards
Simon
