What was the place of death registration for LAC John McLEAN - 850161 - age 48, whose name couldn't be traced in Flight Global.
He may not have been on an aircraft, however for the completeness the proposed aircraft losses for this day (and names of surviving crew also very welcome):
Spitfire I - L1071 - 53 OTU - bellylanded Llandow.
Spitfire II - P8671 - 57 OTU - crashed in forced landing Goswick Sands, Northumberland.
Whiley V - Z6722 - 3 (C)OTU - crashed on approach 2 miles E of Cranwell.
Regards and thanks,
Henk.
