1437869 Corporal Charles Edward (or Edwards) HOLMES

The death of Corporal Holmes on 14 April 1943 was reported in the Diss Express on 16 April using terms--'suddenly' and 'while on [active] service'--normally used for non-combat deaths. A family tree on Ancestry reports that he 'died on the parade ground during training', a cause of death for which these terms would certainly have been used.
