What was the place of death registration for W/O Herbert G. WOOD - 343854, who died on active service.

John Harding 339504 , attached to Number 49 WU, was on duty at North post Shafa Amr on 22 April at 16:÷0 Hours when two Arab boys approached and handed him an unexploded AP bomb they had found in he vicinity. Within a few minutes the bomb exploded in his hands. The two boys and 1046856 AC1 R Gordon and 1556924 LAC Crichton were also badly injured and two other airmen slightly wounded. Admitted to Number 53 General hospital, he died at 11:30 hours of serious blast and shrapnel wounds to the hands, arms, chest and face

Thomas william Alfred Cremen 927478 , was the drogue operator in Maryland AH295 which crashed into the sea off Port Said. A body was found in the sea at 12:30 Hours on 3 May, wearing a parachute harness marked LAC Robertson . The remains were identified as being of Cremen however and his funeral was held at 16:00 Hours on 4 May

Herbert George Wood 343854 | attached to RAF Middle Wallop | as a cook & butcher, was admitted dangerously ill to the EMS hospital at Epsom on 17 March, where he died of lymphosacroma of the tonsil
