In the last few weeks the 'Evening Post' (Wellington, NZ's capital city, newspaper) up to 1945 has been placed on the Papers Past website for online searching (http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast) .

It is the first New Zealand paper covering the WWII years to appear on the site. Members with an interesti in New Zealand airmen, etc, might find it a useful research source.

A nice search engine and the pages are fairly well scanned, very useful.

Found a good few mentions of the irish related airmen. Super.

Including one who in January 1939 was fined a pound for sneaking onto a visiting German ship and robbing a flag or such.

Very useful.

Thanks

There is a lot on RAF stuff there as well.. The advantages of a strong colonial bond at the time!
