According to Chorleys Bomber Command losses volume for 1945, a Lancaster I, PB902 OJ-H, from 149 sqdn "Overshot and crash-landed 12.30 while attempting to land at Trondheim Vaernes in Norway. No injuries reported".

Pilot was F/L Stanley James Layton KEY (169591)
Date: 13 August 1945.
According to Chorley, the plane was on a transfer flight.

Key was killed in 1972 when a Trident he piloted crashed shortly after take off from Heathrow.

Does anyone have any additional information about F/L Key, his service with the RAF and further details about the 'transfer flight', were there any others onboard, what role were 149 Sqdn involved in during the period etc.

I've obviously looked online at the plentiful information available about the 1972 incident so have what I require regarding that.

Thanks & Regards
