What were the places of death registration for:
A - Not found in Flight Global:
Sgt (Pilot) Charles A. LANE - 1337645.
B - Died on active service:
P/O George MATTINSON - 143576, and
ACW1 Christania MOORE - 2080073.
C - Proposed aircraft losses:
Lysander III - V9376 - 5 GTS - crashed on landing Shobdon.
Oxford I - EB689 - 3 (P)AFU - overshot landing at South Cerney.

Mattinson,31, registered at Great Ouseburn,W Yorkshire
I found a Christina Moore,20(same age as CWGC),registered at Bucklow, Cheshire
Lane was not on England and Wales register

Lane's death is registeredat Prestonkirk, East Lothian as the result of a flying accident . Place of death was Waughton Farm, Prestonkirk, which is just NE of East Fortune airfield . I have Beaufighter JL424 of 132 OTU as crashing on approach at EF on this day.

Dave: I see what happened. I quoted from the Aeromilitaria list Winter 2010 and there were two Beaufighters lost 3-7-1943 mentioned in the list of the Autumn 2010 edition.
Beaufighter VI - T5287 - 9 (C)OTU - crashed on landing Crosby, and
Beaufighter VI - JL424 - 132 OTU - "crashed on take-off"(!) East Fortune.

I have AUS425274 Sgt Michael Joseph CARBERRY RAAF aboard EB689. Not sure if he was solo, but he was injured.

As well as contained in the practice areas for the PTS at Ringway Bucklow was also the registration district covering the RAF Hospital at Wilmslow, I'd be going for a link to the RAF Hospital.

P/O George MATTINSON - 143576 - the Lancashire Evening Post of July 9th 1943 reported the following:
DROWNED WHILE BATHING
An old boy of Whitehaven Secondary School, Pilot Officer George Mattinson, of Egremont, has been drowned while bathing in the River Nidd, Yorkshire. He played both cricket and rugby for Egremont, and before the war was employed in the offices of the Workington Iron and Steel Co. He was married less than a year ago.

Christania Moore 2080073 , attached to 61 MU, became seriously ill on 29th May and was admitted to RAF Hospital, Wilmslow, where she Died of pleural effusion

John Louis Garwood 1458172 , attached to Number 13 Wireless Unit , was driving a Ford 15 cwt with a water trailer in tow. When descending the pass at Sollum, he lost control and hit the Ford 15 cwt travelling in front which was on tow by another vehicle. Garwood was killed and Corporal Wear suffered facial injuries

Edwin Kenneth Davis 635157 , attached to Number 222 Group, was admitted seriously ill to Number 35 British General hospital at Colombo on 3 July, where he died of amoebic dysentery
