The science of bombing : operational research in RAF Bomber Command (University of Toronto Press, 2009) Randall T. Wakelam.
Just started reading this book, written by a Canadian Forces man who is also a historian. It's a detailed study of the Operations Research scientists at RAF HQ 1939-1945 and how the got on with Harris and his commanders. It's both a study of the relationship between the civilians and the military leaders, as well as a description of how the technology was developed through research and testing, based on an analysis of bombing results. Very interesting read, even if you know some of the technical stuff already.
I borrowed it from the local university library but it is also available for sale online for about 15 pds softcover.
