Sorry, the message was to long and I had to shorten it and cut it in half. While I already established contact to the family of T/Sgt. Hein, who was murdered in my hometown of Langenselbold, I couldnt get much on the case of Lt. Schnautz in Hanau. I would like to know if you have any information about files that could be stored in German Archives about the incedent and the trial. I already contacted some archives in Wiesbaden and Ludwigsburg, but did not get an answer yet. Without further information on the persons involved it doesnt make sense to contact the Federal Archive in Freiburg or Berlin for personal files. Thank you for the great research so far. I hope you can help me. Best wishes Thomas Rost
Hello RodM, my name is Thomas and I am a historian from Hamburg. I recently found out about the murders of two airmen in Langenselbold and Hanau in 1944/45. In the relating thread in this forum you provided some very interesting information some years ago. Via Internet I already located the concerning files in the National Archives in London and Washington and I will try to get copies of them sooner or later. I also contacted some local historians, that were not aware of this forum and the findings you provided in detail, though there was a newspaper article about the incident one year ago, which seemed to be based on mainly on newspaper articles from the 1950s.
