Hi Peter, I found the 'Cpl Ford-Smith 1334634, a met person? thread whilst Googling for 'D5E'. The thread went quiet last August, are you still 'decrypting' the service record? I've just received a service record and would appreciate any pointers to resources that would help me understand the abbreviations, most of which are BCATP/Canada related. Kind regards, Kelvin (in Hook...just south of Reading)
Sorry peter, I've looked at all the "service" and "no service" recods for the Troon Lifeboat 1939 to 1946 and can find no record which matches. Regards Ross
Hi Peter, The raw data for the PoW list is held in database format not spreadsheet and consists of a considerable amount of additional information I am not yet ready to publish. The original documents also contained a number of duplicates of service numbers and 23 of these remain to be resolved. If you wish to email me a list of the service numbers I will search the database and reply with any details found. rmcneill@currantbun.com Ross
Hi Peter I am sorry it has taken so long to get back to you but I mislaid my log on details and have only just been able to re-establish the link. You very kindly sent me some very useful information concerning my late uncle Sgt Peter Hanberger who was killed in action on 4th May 1943. The detail you supplied together with website links have proved to be extremely interesting. My thanks and that of my family to you. Kind regards Sharon
