  1. F/O BJE Hannah, crash near Antwerp
Hi Errol, I'm getting exactly no where with my queries about this so far, so starting to try & think outsiode the square a bit & thought of trying to contact news papers in & around Antwerp. To this end & bearing in mind the entry you have shared from Vol 2 of your marvellous trilogy, from this I quote " Later found to have crashed at Schoten, on the NE outskirts of Antwerp,". Where does that information come from & how reliable is it? I thinking of trying to see if maybe there is a local paper for the Schoten area which might get better coverage than an Antwerp daily though I will certainly be looking to try that too.
    All the best,
    Steve Hannah.

    Hi Errol
I've just returned to the Forum after a long absence to enquire about Sgt GW Bumstead, Flt. Eng in 514 Squadron and, on his last flight, a member of a crew with a majority (just!) of RNZAF personnel
I'm wondering if by any chance you have any snippets of info in your files
    Best wishes,
    Aubrey

    Hi Errol,
I came across a photo of a Kiwi airman just after being captured in WWII with two German Officers. Could you contact me as I have lost your email address, and I'lll send you the photo, you may be able to recorganise him.

    Hi Errol,
My name is Rachel and i am the granddaughter of T/F/ Sgt AJ Nicholas rnzaf 427032.
My father Thomas Nicholas is his youngest son. I sent a message to Geoff who started the thread about him that we have only just come across.

    Dear Errol,

I have just found you listing of October 10 , 2010

There is an account of this adventurous escape on pp339-341 of Vol Two of 'Bloody Shambles'. The five pilots (who all took turns at the flying) are named as:

    Plt Off Mendizabal (Canadian)
    Sgt Stuart Munroe (Australian)
    Alan Martin (Australian)
    Doug Jones (New Zealander)
    Ens Frits Pelder (Dutch)

I am currently researching the life of Alan Martin who was my wife's uncle and wonder if you have a copy of the above mentioned pages from 'Bloody Shambles' that you would share with me. We do have limited knowledge (not much more than is already recorded on various web sites) of the events surrounding this epic flight which i will gladly share if you are interested.

Any help will be much appreciated,

    Phil Bailey Sydney Australia.

    Hello Errol,
kyt an another site helps people but suggested I contact you as although he was flying with Bomber Command when VP Cummock died he was with the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
Flight Sergeant Vincent Patrick Cummock NZ41574 was KIA on 3 June 1942 and is buried at Reichswald Forest Cemetery.
I have been informed that Bomber Command lost two aircraft that night one from 57 and one from 61 Sqn. Aircraft were Vickers Wellington.

What I was asking was what kind of mission were thy on and any background information
