A quick update:

SHAW Ronald Alvis, Sgt (Obs) 1059978 - he was the observer in Beaufighter 1c T4715, which crashed 2 miles north of Ramsey, Isle of Man, at 17.30 hours on August 4th 1942. The Beaufighter was on a consumption test from Lyneham, and suffered a starboard engine failure at 9,000 feet, which resulted in a spin from which the pilot was unable to recover.

The pilot, P/O Wilbur Bernard Sherry, R.C.A.F. J.73465 was also killed. Details from Sherry's R.C.A.F. records via ancestry.com.

While reading this thread i noticed my Grandfather name WO A.L. Brigden killed in action 7/8 1943, and i would like as much information about him. all i have of his is a log book No1 the secound book was lost, a telegram from the king and a letter from casualty branch dated 30 sept 1943.

BRIGDEN, ALAN LONGLAND, W/O, R.A.F.
b. Kilburn, 28 Aug., '14. Res. 100 Green Lane. Educ. John Ruskin Sch. Ser., joined R.A.F., '31, served in Egypt. Won wings, '37. On convoy patrols as torpedo bomber pilot, then a year of instructing, followed by operations on anti-submarine patrols, 172 Sqn. K., attacking submarine in Bay of Biscay, 8 Sept., '43.

Hi Simon Robert Lawrence, WHITE 152293,was the navigator of Beaufighter TFX NE 222(W) piloted by Brinley Edward STOURTON of No 489 Torpedo Bomber Squadron, that took off at 0920 on a recee of the Dutch coast, and did not return. He is buried in a joint grave at Texel with his pilot.
