C - Not listed Flight Global archives:
    F/Sgt George MERRILL - 523089

CWGC currently shows the wrong year for MERRILL, he actually died in 1944. This is confirmed by the image of the Grave Registration Report on the CWGC.
His death was registered in Sheffield, and burial records show that he died at Crimcar Lane Hospital.

I have written to CWGC to advise them.

Re Master T9676 and Duff. There are three deaths associated with this a/c now.

Duff on the 20th and Currie and Bushnell on the 19th.

I have looked at FreeBMD, and all three deaths are registered at Thorne, the place of the accident.

To confuse thing further T9676 was a Magister not a Master. Chorley confirms that Bushnell and Currie were killed in that incident but the ORB only mention officers so only Bushnell is mentioned in that.

Yes Magister of course, which is what I have. The point I was trying to make is that there are three casualties associated with a two seater aircraft. As Duff died a day later than the other two but was registered in the same district, Thorne, I am wondering if he was the victim of some other accident in the district, perhaps at Lindholme, also in Thorne district. It is also possible that he was an unauthorised passenger in the Magister and taken to a local hospital or Lindholme injured. Or did the accident happen at Lindholme with Duff being injured on the ground?
