    SMITH, Douglas Allan - Sgt (Pilot) - possibly killed whilst flying in either Oxford I, N6338 or NM415 of No 21 (P) AFU, which collided with each other near Tatenhill.

    Cemetery: ROMFORD CEMETERY
    Additional Information: Son of Arthur Alexander and Alice Maud Wilson, of Canvey Island; husband of Ena Edith May Wilson, of Pakenham, Suffolk. Died at Newark Hospital from a subarachnoid haemorrhage caused by a burst aneurysm while serving at RAF Syerston.

    Ronald Caldwell Shepherd 646154 , attached to 132 MU , was admitted seriously ill to Number 5 South African General hospital on 7 April , where he died at 01:00 Hours of diphtheria

    Bernard Killner 1038156 , a Fitter 2 E attached to HQ Number 15 Group, was killed in a flying accident at 19:44 Hours whilst flying as a passenger in Tiger Moth II T5078, which crashed at Houghton Tower Farm near Hale, Lancashire, when the engine cut during aerobatics and the aircraft stalled into the ground during a forced landing. His body being removed to Broadgreen EMS hospital, Liverpool

    James Walter Jones 618625 ,attached to 78 MU, was admitted seriously ill to the Brecon military hospital on 5 April, dying at 03:05 Hours of amoebic hepatitis

    The current entry in this database is wholly erroneous

    George Thomas Coombes 1511399 | attached to RAF Exeter | was killed at 22:45 Hours 200 yards on the Exeter side of Halfway House, Alysbeare, Devon, on the Exeter to Sidmouth Road, when he was struck by a US Army jeep whilst off duty
