Thanks Ross that answers a few more questions.

I am still struggling to interpret the text I will type as written to see if anyone can help.

E/F (TO) (Engine fire 2nd engine?) Std eng failed and caught fire in air. Pilot stalled A/C (aircraft?) attempting to SE? fly and operate fire extinguisher EO?(Engine take off stage?) to 2 cylinder barrel fractures cause N/K (not known?). 3rd acc of type (accident?) STW Co no blame pilot. AFC Couen.(could this be a rank and name)

LDG.NF I presume means landing not forced.

acc - accident
STW Co is STN Co - Station Commanding Officer
AFC Couen is AOC Concur - Air Officer Commanding concurs (agrees with previous statements - Ross)
LDG.NF -Landing not forced

Hi all
Continuing on with my research now I have deciphered the AM 78 and 1180 forms with a great deal of help from Ross and Mark, thanks again. I would like to know if anyone has a copy of the Chorley 1942 entry for Z1107 on the 3/ 1 /1942 the aircraft was being used by 99 squadron and was involved in a Flying Battle and sustained enough damage that the aircraft had to be repaired at either Brooklands itself or a team from Brooklands at RAF Sywell.

Hello All
I have received My uncles service record today and would like help with an abbreviation. I have included the ones I have deciphered if it is relevant.

1 ACRC- Air Crew Reception Centre

14 ITW- Initial Training Wing

67/43 No 1 EAGS ?? reason given as HHH ???

9(0) AFU - Advanced Flying Unit

28 OTU- Operational Training Unit

The 67/43 is a form I presume.The closest I can find is AGS - Air gunner school. He was an Air gunner but I can find no relevance to the E or the reason given as HHH no other section has a reason given.
