    Default Unaccounted airmen - 6-12-1940

    What caused the death of and/or what were the places of death registration for:

    AC1 Albert J. AMBLER - 1160593 - killed on active service;
    AC1 Frank CHIVERS - 985665 - 11 BC, 957 (Balloon) Sqn, Yeovil - killed on active service,
    AC2 Charles F. KNAPTON - 919610 - 6 BC, 916 (Balloon) Sqn, Coventry - killed on active service.

    Hi Henk
    To back up Amrit's post both Chivers,26 and Knapton,25 are registered at Bristol, but so is Ambler,24 although the name is in the register without the "L".

    BEST, Maurice Sydney - Lac - 403542 - RNZAF.
    Bombay Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Franklin District, New Zealand.
    Death was caused while walking along the eastern boundary of RNZAF Station New Plymouth by being struck by the wheel of Tiger Moth, NZ660 that was approaching the aerodrome.

    Death caused by an Air Raid on Temple Mead, Bristol.

    CHIVERS, Frank - AC1c - 985665 - RAFVR - 957 Balloon Sqn.

    Death caused by an Air Raid on 957 Balloon Sqn's Site.

    EWIN, Henry Richard - AC1c - 840936 - RAF(AAF) - 902 Balloon Sqn.
    Woolwich Cemetery, London.
    Cause of death ?

    KNAPTON, Charles Frederick - AC2c - 919610 - RAFVR - 916 Balloon Sqn.
    Bristol (Canford) Cemetery, Gloucestershire.
    Death caused by an Air Raid on Bristol.

    PARROTT, Harry Scotney - Sgt - 759225 - RAFVR.
    Rowledge (St.James) Churchyard, Surrey.
    WEATHERLEY, Stanley Robert Edward - P/O - 84003 - RAFVR.
    Hendon Cemetery and Crematorium, Middlesex.
    These two airmen were crew of Blenheim IV - V5420 - 53 Sqdn.

    BEAN, Dennis Francis - Sgt - 581432 - RAF.
    LEAVER, Dennis Kennedy - Sgt - 748367 - RAFVR.
    JOHNSTON, Albert Cartwright - Sgt - 969948 - RAFVR.
    These three airmen are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey.
    They were crew of Blenheim IV - Z5726 - 254 Sqdn.

    Henry Richard Ewin 840936 , was admitted to St. Alfred's hospital , Greenwich on 6 December, where he died the same day of an inoperable carcinoma
