The ORB records: -

He was serving with No 926 Sqn, and died in Crumpsall Hospital from wounds sustained on 19 December when he shot himself in the body.

He was admitted seriously ill to RAF Hospital Halton on 23 November becoming dangerously ill on 9 December dying of pulmonary tuberculosis (via Jon Heyworth)
