EVANS, Margaret F - ACW2c - 2158385 - her death was reported in the Liverpool Echo of January 2nd 1947:
CHESTER FATALITY
A 26-year-old W.A.A.F., Margaret Florence Evans, of 27 Willow Road, Lache Estate, Chester, who was knocked down by a War Department vehicle in City Road, Chester, last night, died in Chester Royal Infirmary shortly after admission.
The inquest into her death was reported in the Chester Observer of Janaury 11th, and it reported that there was a brawl in the street, and Evans fell into the road and was run over by the lorry, which was driven by a Geman P.o.W. The inquest heard that she and three others, all of who were apparently a little worse for drink, were in a taxi when an argument broke out with the taxi driver, which ended up with one of the male passengers attacking the taxi driver in the street. ACW2 Evans got out of the taxi, fell into the road and was run over by the lorry which was trying to pass the taxi. No blame was laid on the lorry driver, and a verdict of Accidental death was returned.
