    Hi Henk

    I'm not aware if any the of following were on your 1939 list, but I have just come across these while researching at Kew:

    4/9/39
    AC2 Thompson 621154 149 Sqn Died of injuries following motor cycle accident Newmarket
    AC2 Hoey 615404 149 Sqn AG - seriously injured in same accident

    24/9/39
    AC R.G. Davies 528576 144 Sqn. Died of injuries following road accident Scunthorpe

    13/12/39
    LAC Ernest John Naylor 567513 149 Sqn. Died in hospital following car accident on Epping New Road.

    15/12/39
    LAC John Travers Smith 520179 149 Sqn Died in hospital after being knocked off bicycle by car on Newmarket Road.

    Thanks Brian for additional info. Most was in my files however every piece makes a story complete. THOMPSON recorded by CWGC as THOMSON and only with initial "T".
    Death of NAYLOR was very tragic: he died in Forest Hospital Buckhurst Hill, Essex. Accident happened returning to his unit after 6 days' special leave awarded for the part he had played on the recent successful flight over Heligoland.

    OK, I figured out I was duplicating some information last night. While its not me doing the donkey work, I'd still link to the DOAS people, to direct people to those threads and prevent a relative or researcher starting a new thread. But down the line maybe.

    I had thought some of those people last night were new to the whole endeavour. It brought me back to my heady days when I was single, looking up the unaccounted into the wee small hours.
