    Jagan,
Whalley seems to be missing from the POW entry for the loss of Battle K9390.

    Hi Ed,

Sorry about the lack of reply. I am just seeing this now.

Yup, I switched his Christian names. Definitely Wilson Samuel.

The info on his aircraft's serial number and the circumstances of his capture come from his RCAF service file.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Good Afternoon all,

I am a RAF logbook collector and personally purchased and digitally archived 150 airmans logbooks so far, from all crew roles, squadrons and campaigns and have a couple of logs relating to P.O.Ws and escapers.

This link takes you to the gallery I have added of a log I posses to Pilot Peter Nevines (1231507 ) of 76 squadron who on his third attempt to escape was successful and it may help you in your research.

This link takes you to all the galleries added so for if its of interest:

Unfortunately he died in a car crash in the 50's

Please take a look at the other galleries I have posted as well.
    All the best,

    Bobbie

Bobbie, what a great acquisition! I added the service number in the post so that it comes up in related forum search for Nevine's page

I noted the post made by the previous owner two years ago on your facebook group - at that time Nevine was not even in our POW DB.. glad it found its way to your care.

I refer to the record of the Wellington T2828 shot down over Benghazi:- http://www.rafcommands.com/database/...php?uniq=T2828

My father was Sgt William Jamieson Logie (989824) and his crewmate was Sgt Alexander 'Sandy' MacPhail (988130). They were captured and transferred to Italian POW Camp 59 at Servigliano (near Piceno) Italy - (source WO392/21 British & Imperial POW WWII, ITALY, Section 8, Air Forces, Royal Air Force, Alphabetical Lists) - In September 1943 they escaped in a mass break out from the Camp, but instead of travelling in a large group (many of which were rounded up), they travelled in a very small group and made there way to Allied Lines. My father rejoined the RAF in June 1944.

I was wondering whether the above record could be updated along with any cross references to show the POW camp and the service number of Sgt MacPhail?

    Thank you.

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong thread!

Thanks for the post with the extra information. It's always nice to hear from relatives of the crews.
Jagan deals with the POW database, I'm sure he'll correct it before long.

    Jagan,
Sgt D Martin seems to be missing from the POWs (or is not linked).

The issue here is that we are unable to identify which of the three " D Martin" this one refers to.

    We have:

MARTIN David AC2 RAF 1522937 DL
MARTIN Dennis Flt Sgt RAF 655033 L7 989
    MARTIN Douglas Sgt RAF 1114056

None of these have dates of capture nor unit nor circumstances recorded.
