    GALE, John Edmund - Pilot II - 1609967 - Denmark Comm. Flight. The National Probate Calendar records that he died at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Copenhagen. The Western Times of May 16th 1947 carried the following announcement:

    GALE - John Edmund, Pilot, R.A.F., V.R., Stalbridge, killed by an accident at "Kastrup" Airport, Denmark, on May 2nd 1947, aged 22 years.

    DENMARK
    GALE, John Edmund - Pilot II - 1609967 - RAFVR.
    Copenhagen ( Bispebjerg ) Cemetery, Denmark.

    He died after an accident at Kastrup Airport. During a conversation with some colleagues near the British hangar, he was hit by a jeep, trying to avoid a collision with a big military truck. Then trapped between jeep and hangar wall.

    He died of his injuries at Sct. Elisabeth's Hospital (Copenhagen).

    Edward Northard had been shot down in Stirling EH996 of 90 squadron on 19th November 1943, becoming a POW and the sole survivor

    Dennis James Bull 3055146 | Attached to Number 1 PHU | was admitted seriously ill to the King Edward VII sanatorium, Midhurts Sussex, on 21 March. He was transferred to RAF Station hospital Uxbridge on 27 march, and thence to the Westminster hospital, London, on 14 April, where he died of carcinoma of the bronchus

    Edward Northard 1697726 ] attached to Number 1 PHU ] had been the sole survivor of Stirling EH996 of 90 Squadron when it was shot down on 19 November 1943 on a sortie to Mannheim. Returned safe to the UK from captivity as a POW on 30 May 1945 ( the German IRCC sate he had been captured on 18 November 1943 ), sadly, he had contracted pulmonary tuberculosis whilst a POW and died at home at 3 The Avenue, Hampshire Street, Kingston Upon Hull
