    shown as killed 23/9/41 when the crash happened two days earlier 21/9/41. Other two crew members show up with 21/9 as DoD

    Various documents on ancestry.com databases state Britland's date of death as the 21st Sep 1941 so I'll forward them to CWGC for review.

    His remains were actually cremated on site on mountain top due to the inaccessibility of the site! Presumably the other crew members too.

    The date should be 1941-11-20

    The ORB of 21 Sqn SAAF confirms the loss of four Marylands to Bf-109s on 1941-11-20 and mentions Haines by name. Several others were lost on this date - http://www.rafcommands.com/database/...ame=&qt=&qord=

    The GRO form states the date as the 17th which is probably where the error came up from.

    Colville date is the 2nd or 3rd per their own burial concentration reports etc. Ill drop em a line later.
