DUGHAN, J - LAC - 1676975 - John Dughan. The National Probate Calendar records that he died at The General Infirmary, Burton-on-Trent. A family tree on ancestry.co.uk records him as the son of John Duggan and Sarah Ann Dughan, nee Pointer.

BAKER, Geoffrey John - Cpl - 993973 - the National Probate Calendar records that he died at Wrightington Hospital, Appley Bridge, near Wigan.

Re Dughan

He sustained abdominal injuries from a bomb blast whilst serving in The Netherlands in January 1945. He received treatment at Army hospitals and was discharged as unfit for further service in December 1945.
John continued to receive medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries in the General Infirmary, Burton-on-Trent.
An Inquest into his death was held on Thursday 12 June 1947, the Coroner, Mr. T.H. Bishop, presiding. After hearing medical evidence the Coroner recorded a verdict of ‘death as a result of war injuries’.
