DOWDALL - On July 18, at Kingston County Hospital, after a tragic road accident, Eric James, dearly loved son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Dowdall, and fiance of Miss Sheila Stevens.

WARD, Vincent - AC2c - 2316107 - the National Probate Calendar records that he died at The Infirmary, Southgate, Pontefract.

14112 LAC Ellis Joseph BRODIE RAAF.

14112 LAC Ellis Joseph BRODIE RAAF (Station HQ, Richmond, NSW). Odd case, Brodie enlisted in the RAAF on 11 March, 1940, and was discharged on 16 December, 1940. He subsequently joined the Australian Army on 26 April, 1941, only to be discharged on 12 June, 1942. Brodie died in New South Wales, on 18 July, 1947, five years after his discharge from the 2nd AIF. I have no idea what the cause of death was! He was a respected member of the North Sydney Returned Servicemen's League (Sub-branch), so no stigma was attached to his discharge.
