Hello,
AUSTRALIA.
261555 S/L Richard William SHEIL RAAF.
261555 S/L (Pilot) Richard William 'Dick' SHEIL RAAF (ex- OC, No.34 (T) Sqn. RAAF - 17/3/1944 - 25/2/1946), was officially discharged from the RAAF on 5 March, 1946. He passed away (suddenly), at Launceston, Tasmania, from an unspecified illness, on 26 September, 1947.
Sheil was a pre-war Ansett Airways pilot, he was also a sales rep for the Fairchild Air Corp., in Australia. He enlisted in 1940, and initially took up instructing duties (at No.3 EFTS, Essendon, Victoria). His surname was often misspelt as "Shiel".
