    MEYER, Fritz – GAF.
    WESSELS, Bernhard – GAF.
    Both the above Airmen rest at Cannock Chase Military cemetery, Staffordshire.

    Title should read: 391021 - 21-10-1939.

    MEYER, Fritz -
    WESSELS, Bernhard - GAF.

    He 115B (W Nr 2093) S4+GH (Other sources disagree).

    At Sea - The Wash, Norfolk. 13.00hrs.

    Three bodies; one officer and two NCOs were washed ashore on the Norfolk coast, two at Happisburgh and one at Mundesley, on 31st October 1939. No.3 Group RAF arranged the funeral on 2nd November 1939 at Happisburgh. The body of an unidentified Unteroffizier was buried alongside these three men on 27th October 1939 - all have now been moved to Cannock Chase, the fourth man being the Unbekannter Deutscher Soldat in CC 5/78.

    CARBERY, John – Cpl – 23367 - his R.F.C. records on FMP record 'Died 21.10.1939', and the National Probate Calendar records that he died at Padgate. He had served in France between August 17th 1916 and February 14th 1919, and re-enlisted in July 1939.

    John Carbery 23367 , attached to Number 6 Central medical board, died in the RAF Hospital at RAF Station Poulton of shock, myocardial degeneration and a perforated duodenal ulcer
