Hello,
Pse see: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/...upplement/1134
CENTRAL CHANCERY OF THE ORDERS OF KNIGHTHOOD. St. James's Palace, S.W.1, 26th February, 1946. The KING has been graciously pleased -to approve the award of the (British Empire Medal (Military Division) in recognition of distinguished service while a prisoner of war, to: — 7537I5 Leading Aircraftman John Oswald WESTON, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
Can we have LAC Weston (Met Assistant, PoW Crete) included in this? This singular announcement (see above) is very unusual!

We might not know - but we might know who does!

Jagan, I would like to ask if you will be willing to include also awards to Czechoslovak airmen which were not gazetted?
I do not have full details for all but at least I will be able to provide you some basic list like name - date - award - unit.

Hi Pavel.
Yes I think it should be added to the database. Along with other missing east european countries. (Polish awards anyone?)
the following fields are what I am tracking in the database. if you can have something ready, i can import it..
TYPE NUMBER Branch FORCE Rank FIRST NAME SURNAME Effective Date Posthumous Award date UNIT citation reference Image BEM(M) 370776 RAF LAC Alfred GORRING Y/N 1940-01-16 citation gazette number if available image file name if available
Jagan, I can later convert my own table into your format in XLS.
The only question - UNIT it is unit where he served when the act for which he was decorated happened?

I am a frequent user of the RAF Awards Database on the RAFCommands website. I was reading up about Squadron Leader Harry Coldbeck, a Maltese Spitfire Reconnaissance pilot. Apparently, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and went on the RAFCommands database to find no entry! However, I have located then-Flight Lieutenant Coldbeck's DFC citation. Could someone with the correct technical privileges upload his DFC citation and his entry into the database?
All the best,

Thanks for pointing it out - I got to admit I was worried how that award was missed and if it was, how many more did we miss?
Turns out it was a typo during entry. He was entered as GOLDBECK!.. fixed it now.. http://www.rafcommands.com/database/...qname=COLDBECK
