Wasn't this posted yesterday? I'm sure I posted the details of Naylor's accident and the inquest...?
Anyway:
His death was reported in several newspapers at the time, under the name John Naylor. The Liverpool Echo of December 13th 1939 reported:
LIFE AND DEATH
Leading Aircraftman John Naylor (19), who came safely through one of the Heligoland raids, was killed in a motor accident at Epping Forest after spending leave at his home in Marlow, Bucks, where he showed his parents a piece of shrapnel which had struck his plane.
The inquest was reported in the Essex Newsman of December 23rd 1939. Naylor was a passenger in a car driven by Aircraftman Jack Landgridge, which struck the rear of a stationary lorry on Epping New Road at Buckhurst Hill in the black-out. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
Regards
Simon
