Complete and utter rubbish, Lemuel Walter Beddowes was my father in law, his son Kenneth Beddowes is still alive. Lemuel died at Sherborne Road, Birmingham after committing suicide, he is buried at Brandwood End Cemetery Birmingham along with his mother and father.
Thanks for the post - though confused by your “complete and utter rubbish” comment - the record on his death on this site his is “self inflicted” and that is what you confirm
Kind regards
Deaths & Causes are a matter of record. Anyone’s certificate can be purchased through the General Register Office without restrictions. The Ancestry British Newspaper Archive has details of legions of suicides and the subsequent inquests. The coroners records for your local area are viewable in your local archive if they are 75 years old. The Operational Record Books at Kew, freely accessible to all, have details of the circumstances of death of the Airmen in that Squadron.
Sadly, suicides due to the pressures of war were all too common. These men & women deserve to be remembered and their deaths are equally as valid as anyone who died by enemy action in a Spitfire or of some horrible illness contracted on service.
Why not submit some details and a photograph of Lemuel to the database to ensure his story & legacy is proudly perpetuated, not filed away and forgotten, because he deserves to be remembered with non judgmental honour & pride alongside his peers
