S/L Ambrose May 1944

I have S/L Ambrose flying from Coltishall to Hucknal and back in 1944. I cannot find any matching S/L Ambrose though. There were Henry Ambrose (156922), RAFVR, Charles Francis Ambrose (42583) and Alfred Percy Ambrose (131584), but neither of them was S/L in May 1944. I find H P Ambrose, OC No 263 Sqn, but I wonder if it is a typo for Alfred.
Anyone has any idea about the proper Ambrose?

I am afraid neither of them fits. Four became S/Ls, only one during the war, and he was killed before May 1944. I have wondered about the surname being misspelled, but I am not sure how to misspell it.

After some research and a bit of enlightenment, I have concluded that the S/L Ambrose I am looking for is 42583 Charles Francis AMBROSE DFC. He was promoted to Flt Lt (war subs.) on 24th Feb. 1942, and transferred to reserve still as Flt Lt on 10th July 1945. He raised ranks to Squadron Leader only on 1st July 1948. In May 1944 he was a staff officer with No 53 OTU at Kirton-in-Lindsey. Apparently he must have had an Actg rank at the time, though I find it interesting that for more than 3 years he was not appointed Sqn Ldr.
Now the question. Did anyone hear about his log books? He had plenty of children it seems, but not sure how many, as there was another couple of the same surnames.

Paul is correct. The RAF Museum London 2007 list of Flying Logbooks was made available by a member here several years ago and I kept a copy.

The List includes one entry for S/Ldr CF Ambrose:

"Accession no MF10018/1
Title: Pilot's flying log book of Sqdn Ldr C.F. Ambrose, 1940-1946
Maker: Charles Ambrose
Prodn date: 28 May 1940-31 December 1946."

Although the Museum has re-opened for booked visits, the Research Dept "remote enquiry" service (ie email, presumably) is suspended until 1 April 2024.
However, their page says it rather differently...

In earlier years I've found their response and charges for paper copies of Flying Log Books both timely and reasonably priced.
Perhaps by now digital copies might be possible - save them a lot of labour.

The pdf list is from 2007: may have been updated in the years since.
