[QUOTE=Jagan;185788|Jon , I am working on showing them as partially accounted. At least we know they did not die in service/uniform.. Thats partial in my opinion.[/QUOTE|

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. To me its a bit Chris Hobbs : " died ", everyone died !! Its how thats the hard part. I will say though that I'll not add any more entires for the 100's upon 100's upon 100's that I know died post discharge though as it makes them much harder for Me to check through from other potential sources, and I think it adulterated the cast iron majority of entries that have been achieved. It's been one of my concerns as we run down to the absolute limits of what's achievable,

I entered those 1945 post discharge guys for January and February as they are "perfect " months with not a single partially accounted Airman

I do have a raft of 100 plus " accidents, natural and locations but no actual causes " , but I'll also keep all those back in the hope that further details come to light as they'll simply get lost amongst 122,000 entries as well.

By my calculations, we've 317 Partially accounted Airmen in the U.K. alone, I really, really, REALLY, don't want to add any more and thereby cause more having to trawl through endless entries to find partially accounted ones to resolve, so i will say unless it's stated that " a bomb landed on his head " Or " he had TB " I will keep the post discharge and bare " accidents & natural only " back for at least the time being

Alex's unaccounted Airmen thread for example, is so useful as even though I've gone through every single entry on this database, I've still missed partial entries or " assumed to haves " I could have made full entries for until they pop up on those threads. His last one, for example, picked up 985497 Matthews which I'd simply missed going through entries one, by one, by one, to see if they were fully accounted

    Hi Jon

"Cecil Frederick Giles 35376 | was admitted seriously ill to the Royal Masonic hospital, Ravenscorurt , Hammersmith on 3 January 1944, after suffering a heart attack. He remained there until discharged on 9 March 1945. After a further heart attack, he died in the Westminster Hospital, London SW1"

However, his death is registered in Eton not Westminster?

    Cheers

    Malcolm

I agree fully with marking and noting that they are post discharge, I really just don't think we should Class them as accounted. Have a separate category with a different colour where you can search as post discharge ? After all they have ALL been checked, bloody hundreds upon hundreds !!

[url|https://www.rafcommands.com/database/wardead/details.php?qnum=30837[/url| Like this.. still unaccounted but has the detail that it was a post discharge death. We can work on the color of it .. it will show up as unaccounted in the query..
