    PLYMOTHIAN KILLED
Aircraftman, Aged 19, Took Place Of a Married Man
A young Plymouth radio engineer volunteered for service overseas with the R.A.F. in order that a

on an African station. Aircraftman Vosper, who was 19, was educated at Ford School and at Johnstonterrace School,
later joining his father's radio business in Russell-street. He was home on leave in March prior to volunteering.

Are you sure of this one?

There was a Robert Smith born 1905 registered in Manchester, making him 37.

There was also a Robert Smith born in 1884, making him 57/58 registered in Newcastle.

Robert Smith on CWGC is given as 57 and is buried in Newcastle, which fits the Newcastle registration better?

No it's definite Malcolm, I see exactly what you're saying but it's right. I have no way to check anytime soon but possibly the CWGC has 37, mixed up with 57 ?

    Hi Jon

Looks like CWGC have changed his age from when I originally downloaded his details, it's now shown as 37.

    Cheers

Edward Wilson 982554 , attached to Number 2 AGS, was lost in Anson L9148 off Fishguard. It is unknown why he is not mentioned in AIR 81 / 9691 or for the discrepancy in his date of Death which has been raised with the CWGC.

The Edward Wilson in the GRO register of BMD listed for December 1941 as dying in Winchester, is in fact Signalman 2353651 edward Wilson of the Royal Corps of Signals who was killed on the 6th November 1941 on the Winchester by pass road when a lorry hit his bicycle. He is buried in Glasnevin cemetery, Ireland

were lost at sea in Wellington LB142. I have no idea why there is a discrepancy in the dates of death
    Jon

Where is this from? According to A-B Serial, LB142 was allocated to 458 Sqn at the time of its loss on 14 Apr 1943, whilst these three are shown being with 221 Sqn.

Neither ORB mentions the loss of LB142 on 14 Apr 1943, nor mentions these three being lost?

    Hi Jon

I have her as dying in the RAF Hospital at Bridgnorth, I'm not aware of an RAF Station at Worfield, although it is near to Bridgnorth
