    Default Unaccounted airman - 1-5-1941

What caused the death of and/or what was the place of death registration for:

    P/O (Pilot) Leslie F.C. MAYER - 62327.

Proposed aircraft losses for this day:

    Blenheim I - L6786 - 54 OTU - crashed on take-off ½ mile E of Church Fenton.
Hurricane I - L1841 - 55 OTU - crashed in forced landing Great Stainton, Durham county.
    Magister I - L8158 - 5 EFTS - spun into ground near Tittensor, Staffordshire.
Oxford II - R6229 - 6 FTS - crashed on landing Little Rissington.

Regards and thanks for your help.

    Hello Henk
The death of Leslie F.C. Mayer aged 23 was registered at Tadcaster.
This would suggest he was on Blenheim L6786.
I am away from home so can't check in Warner.
    Regards
    Andy

Mayer was killed in Blenheim L6786, it is the first entry I copied from the ORB.

May 1st 1941, “At 0040 hours P/O L.F. Mayer crashed in Blenheim No.L6785 and was killed.
He crash landed either voluntarily or involuntarily about one mile from the flare path
following engine failure which was thought to be due to plug trouble caused by too much
idling before taking off. No crew was carried; the plane was burned out.”
