Hi,
I am researching Alan M Peart DFC - Spitfire Ace from New Zealand.
He served in 81 Squadron in Burma from January 1944 to June 1944. He was based at Imphal, Palel, Ramu (Reindeer 1), Kangla, Tulihal and Broadway.
I am looking for the map location of Reindeer 1 Ramu. I have some conflicting information and would be grateful if anyone could assist.
I have a decent library of reading materials from Norman Frank, Chris Shores, Andrew Thomas, Bryn Evans and every TNA 81 Squadron online record. I have Alan's book also.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Drew Brown.

Drew and myself had an offline discussion elsehwhere - I had pointed out the WW2talk thread - additionally there is another map that clearly identifies the Ramu Landing Ground locations that I will post here for future reference.
Ramu was one of the four Landing Grounds Ramu1, Ramu2, 3, 4 etc east of Cox Bazaar. Ramu 1 was located here https://goo.gl/maps/6tRBSaKUxTqJSpRo9 Ramu 4 to the East of it. South of the River were Ramu 3 and Ramu 2 respectively.

Hello. I have been researching NZ413066 Sgt Harold Richard Harris 610 Squadron. He was on leave when Dieppe came up. In my research I have come across Alan Peart's Dieppe comments and memories but am left a little confused. In your research Drew did you look at Peart's involvement in the Dieppe Raid? He has spoken and written of being involved in Dieppe but in 610's ORB they undertook four ops that day, Peart's name is on the fourth for the day which was cover for B17s returning from a raid on Amiens and does not appear to be a Dieppe operation. I can see no mention of him being on the three 610 Dieppe ops for the day. Johnny Johnson used almost exclusively officers except Englishman Sgt Edwards for ops over Dieppe. In the fourth op, cover for the B17s, Fw 190s were seen and one was engaged by Johnson but there is no mention of others being involved in that fray although Peart has mentioned being involved in a dogfight on a Dieppe operation. This might be what he recalled. Any thoughts?
