    Hello Andrew,

I was just about to make a start with the ORS files but never came to it because of the current situation. I can help you with AIR14/4591 as far as you haven't copied that one already in the first place...

    Kind regards,
    Hans

    Hi Andrew,

The BC ORB is many volumes of stuff. If you could narrow it down a bit I might be able to help?

Hi All and thanks for your help so far.

Hans - Please see your emails.

    Jim
    - I am ashamed to say that I found this document several months ago, but didn't think to draw it to anyone else's attention, assuming that it was well known. I should have remembered that "ASSUME makes and ASS out of U and ME"! Having said this, the document didn't help me as much as I had hoped.

Richard - I'm sorry, I should have made myself clearer. I am seeking any correspondence, probably from around August 1942, between BC ORS and (I guess) BC HQ in which Dickins advocated the establishment of small fighter training flights within each Bomber Command Group. I understand that there may also have been some correspondence on the subject with AoT. That, unfortunately, is about all I have to go on, so any advice or comments you can offer would be very much welcomed.

    Again, thanks to all. Andrew

Hans: AIR14/4591 is of interest to me. “ Research Branch, Bomber Command and Strike Command: lists of reports, memoranda and notes for the record” Would you be so kind as to describe its contents?

    Thanks

    Jim
