Default PO J.M Forward 149 Squadron

    Hi,

Trying to establish any details on the career of John Melvin Phipps Forward 46914 RAFVR. I know he passed through 1615 CU in March 1942 and was posted to No.149 Squadron, but then I loose him.

    Any help or pointers welcome.

    TIA

    Steve,

It seems 16 July 1942, the Germans found him. Ross' POW list has his s/n as 149852.

Apart from their inability to spell "Stirling" this may come in handy: https://www.medalsofengland.com/meda...1&medalid=1601

The 2nd Pilot was R79194 Sgt John Benson Locke, RCAF of Lennoxville, Quebec. Deceased St. Catharines, Ontario 7 August 1993

    Regards,

    Dave
