    Top right. After the text ‘Type Merlin XLV there is the number 67319.

    Bottom middle. There is an A number 280002.

    Andy.
    The A prefix is the Air Ministry contract number, the other is the Rolls-Royce engine number, which is always an odd number on right-hand rotation Merlins. Both numbers are unique to that particular engine.
