    Well done Paul! I have tried the Canada Gazette too but no luck - I have ended in late 1945 only!

    Well being Sgt in November 1944 and W/O in January 1946 it is quite quick promotion from my point of view but still possible.
    Having two initials and both as Richard has suggested, I am pretty sure it might be him.

    Paul, Pavel,

    Thank you both. I have identified a Robert Barclay in Shawinigan, who died in 2020, his obituary describes him as a veteran of the RCAF 1942-45. Iím guessing that this is the gentleman described as WO R G Barclay. Iíll try and dig a bit deeper into this and see if I can find a link to 78 Sqn.

    That Robert Gordon Barclay who died in 1986 was from Edmonton ????

    Thanks Paul, I didn't know the detail. I'm hoping that I can find some more info on both of these gentlemen so I can see which one is the right one.
