Default Airspeed Oxford incident, Wing Severed, Sgt Instructor Awarded A.F.M.

Can anyone here shine any light on this incident, as seen in the WAIKATO TIMES, 18 February 1941?

We have been discussing it on the Wings Over New Zealand Forum. We would like to find out who he was, where and when it happened, and any circumstances please?

    Here's the WONZ discussion.
