Cause of death of these airmen ?
Both men were killed during an air raid on Bardufoss aerodrome. LAC Jones was manning a machine gun post on one of the hangars and suffered severe shrapnel wounds, severing his left carotid artery. LAC Hurley was killed by the blast of another bomb that struck near a barrack block, suffering a broken neck and shrapnel wounds.

    Report by F/O D H Fowler, 263 Sqn's MO. AIR 81/634

Both men were initially buried at Bardufoss, and later concentrated at Harstadt by 38 GRU

    ETA:

    MEDWAY, William Thomas - Sgt(Pilot) - 740320 - RAFVR - 601 Sqn.
    Spitfire 1a - L1008 - 601 Sqn.
    There's a typo here - should be 610 Squadron

DOCKING, Stanley Holbrook - AC2c - 98358 - his death was reported in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle of May 27th 1940:

Tragic Death of Former United Player
Stanley Holbrook Docking (25) of 66, Plessey Crescent, Whitley Bay, formerly a member of Newcastle United F.C., died in the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, early today, apparently from the effects of disinfectant poisoning. Docking was an aircraftman in the R.A.F.
A native of Chopwell, Stanley Docking played for the colliery club of his native village before joining the Birtley team. In the 1933-34 season he had a few games with Newcastle United ‘A’ as an amateur.
After the practice matches of 1934 he was signed as a professional by the Newcastle club on August 17 of that year.
A weighty inside left, he had many appearances with Newcastle’s first team before being transferred in May, 1938, to Tranmere Rovers, with whom he stayed to the outbreak of the war.

The inquest into his death recorded a verdict of 'Death from heart failure caused by blood poisoning, but what set up this condition there was insufficient evidence to show.' The post mortem found the blood poisoning was an unusual type set up by the presence of a bacillus called Welchii, sometimes found in the intestines as a natural organism.

FALCONER, James Victor Page - Sgt - 748393 - the Hastings Observer reported the inquest into his death. It recorded that he apparently fell from the third story at Regency Mansions, Hastings, crashed through a glass skylight, and died shortly afterwards. It was suggested that he felt ill during the night, and had gone to the roof via a window for some fresh air and had fallen into a narrow gap between the window and the roof.

WHITE, Cyril Williams - AC2c - 1160450 - the Bucks Herald of June 7th 1940 reported his death, and it records that he died due to meningitis after having been in the R.A.F. for only three weeks.

    Alex,
Small typo, Hurricane of ELSON was P2723.
COGMAN is usually said to have drowned as a result of the sinking of SS Abukir, which was in the early hours of 28 May 40.
The Spitfire flown by MEDWAY was L1003 I think, so AIR81/613 is incorrect. L1008 was lost with 609 Sqn on 22 September 1940.
