Hi Colin
This should help out, pretty clear to read and concurs with Flight Lieutenant J B Donnett as stated - https://heritage.canadiana.ca/view/o...6/1013?r=0&s=5
Waiting for the bus ;)
Kind regards

Ladies and Gentlemen,
HELP!!
On 12 March 1944 a 423 Sqn Sunderland was ditched and subsequently sunk, following engine failure.
The crew of ten was rescued, apparently by ships they were sent to protect and there were no casualties – other than some wet feet!
The squadron’s Forms 540 and 541 record the loss but the quality of the National Archive print is so poor that I cannot decipher the captain’s name which is something like: Flight Lieutenant J B Donnett. There was a single warrant officer on board and his name is completely unreadable – please can you help?
For those of you thinking ‘outside the box’, you will have guessed that my query is because I have reached late March 1944 in the manuscript of “Coastal Command Losses – Vol 3”. However, Volume 2 is with A/B and I have no publication details as yet – stay calm my children, you’ve waited 17 years and like a London bus a couple will come along at much the same time!
Early Seasons greetings
Colin Cummings
