    Default Unaccounted airmen - 4-8-1940

What caused the death of the following airmen, both killed on active service (Flight Global):

    P/O Kenneth G. BISHOP - 81738, buried Leek Cem., Staffordshire (UK6547), and

F/Lt James W. RADBONE - 70558, remains cremated Charing (Kent County) Crematorium.

Proposed aircraft loss for this day:
    Blenheim I - L1356 - 23 Sqn - crashed on landing at Wittering.

Regards and thanks for your help.

    Hi Henk
There are recorded deaths that correspond to both these men in 3rd Qtr of 1940 and both at Medway. The article that Amrit posted has Bishop as dying in a flying training accident in the S of England but does not say where or which a/c. It seems possible that Radbone died with him. I believe the Medway area is that in Kent named after the river that feeds into the Thames Estuary but the name Medway does occur in other counties.
    Regards
    Dick

Radbone confirmed by F1180 as pilot in command of Magister L8348. 2 fatalities so Bishop as well.
